Manifesto

Manifesto

Be straightforward in your design

Every single idea could possibly become real

Every opinion given should not be neglected, listen to them first.

Eliminate complexity out of simplicity that causes confusion.

Create designs that does not limit to today’s technology

The only people in the world who can change things are those who can sell ideas.- Lois Wyse

Ideas are what designers survive on. Art has no boundaries, technology

has no boundaries. Through out the ages, designers have made a huge

impact on world and they inspire me. Ideas are powerful beings that felt

almost alive. They never failed to amaze me as I turn my design ideas

into reality, even a simple 4 squares that can form different shapes

and a new design concept is created.

Nothing will obstruct me. Creating designs does not limit to today’s

technology. When one door closes, another door will open for you at

another side. Having good ideas is not enough, designers need to be

hardworking to finish up their final design which I think this is very

challenging job awaiting for me to take up.

“Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration” quoted from Thomson Edison

as a designer, one should also follow to

my design is of a box that is flatten out, showing the black & white side of a dullest normal person who is not being influence of design

Yahoo~

http://alexischoy.wufoo.com/forms/yahoo-survey/

my distribution method is to send to people who is using yahoo email accounts and also on the “yahoo” webpage.

To the people who is using yahoo email accounts: to know what our long term customer wants and needs, they might be the “yahoo” long time supporters that we can not miss!

On the webpage: For people to came across this page despite their home page isn’t “yahoo” it’s also a need to find out more from the newbie using the engine, whereby they do not know how “yahoo” system goes and they might have problems getting to the destination, who knows they prefer to a small variety groups and some functions lots easier.

UCD observation 10

food centre @ amk hub

a lot of tables and chairs available @ 3pm, after i got a table for my family, they went off to buy their food as well as buying for mine.

WHAT DID I SEE?

after some while a lady came with a dish and sat on my table and started eating.

*i told her that this table is being reserved, she then sat at another table.

a worker of food centre came to my table and started eating

i did the same thing to her*

another one was about to sit down but i stopped him.

they were rather pissed off but they didn’t even ask for permission whether they could sit beside you or not.

there were LOADS OF EMPTY CHAIRS AND TOTALLY EMPTIED TABLES!

WHAT DID I HEAR?

“sorry”

WHAT DID I LEARN?

such rude attitude in shopping mall

i have not seen such happening for the past few years until this days

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

i can understand people are rushing to work or just have a quick meal but your making people feel no mood of staying on as people just grab a place and sat down just like that.

ANY IDEAS?

seriously, the choping place using tissue is so much effective than asking people to leave verbally.

they should have ask for permission

i should have stack up all the chair on the table and then wait until my family comes back

since Verbally wasn’t pleasant perhaps Actions would be much better!

*i cant get it why no one sit at the emptied table whereby there is one just beside my table as will as the back too.

UCD observation 9: Drying clothes

every house were drying their clothes, bright sun shone, until a sudden down pour, the sky was still bright as it rained.

WHAT DID I SEE?

clothes were hang on the bamboo pole

they were chucked into the hole outside of kitchen’s window

some hanged the clothes on the grill of the window or the hooked to the pole

bamboo pole were place not into the hole but put as a lever between 2 poles so as to dry more clothes which is illegal

some clothes dropped to the bottom and landed on other people place

mops, rubber pipes were hang outside

WHAT DID I HEAR?

“it’s raining, get the clothes quick!”

WHAT DID I LEARN?

such dangerous placement of bamboo pole which may fall out accidently if one urgently wanted to get all the clothes in quick

WHAT DOES IT MEANS?

it might cause someone below to get hit by the clothes

ANY IDEAS?

they could have the poles inserted mechanical and hang their clothes in and all they need to do was to just push the pole outward of the window and let it dry

even if it rains they only have to pull the poles in

it saves space, time, and easy assessible

and its is best if they have a small balcony to place their large items to dry without endangering people life if those drop accidentally.

2.Jan 09: Do Good Design is a new book from ICOGRADA’s David Berman, with a foreword from Erik Spiekermann. “Design matters, like never before. Designers create so much of what we see, what we use, and what we experience. In this time of unprecedented environmental, social, and economic crises, designers will choose what their young profession will be about: inventing deceptions that encourage overconsumption — or helping repair the world. Today, everyone is a designer. And the future of civilization is our common design project.”

UCD reports

After observations made from all kinds of view as a passerby, customer, in their shoes, we are able to find out more MORE in knowing the problems created. How a simple thing evolved into such big problems, where a simple thing could have gone wrong. UCD made us think in both areas.

Perhaps we are one of them whom we are observing, now standing at a different position made us understand better: what can be done to change for better.

As well as put on our thinking caps and think creatives/crazy/crappy? ideas to make the world a better place.

Nevertheless, i learned more about observing through see, hear, learn.

through this assignment, i discovered more details as i do my observations unlike everyday life just passing by them and let it be.

UCD observation 8: Magazine rack

WHAT DID I SEE?

magazine flipped when sign says no reading of magazine

common to see a few would pick it up and read

people choose a nicer looking magazine which is untouched and bought it

rack left with magazine that looked kind of crumple

magazine in a messy stacks

WHAT DID I HEAR?

“let see what is inside”

“hey this is nice!”

“choose a better one please”

WHAT DID I LEARN?

people are selfish

people only choose to take the new stuffs

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

magazine meant to be sold rather than leaving them crumple and causing other people to get angry when no more better state of magazine available

ANY IDEAS?

the magazine should be kept in plastic to prevent people from taking and flip through

magazine should be place standing up rather than in stacks, no one would care to help to arrange it properly

UCD observation 7

playground+fitness corner,10pm+,usually there will be a lot of kids, adults, grands doing their work out.

WHAT DID I SEE?

kids running around

couple sitting on the bench resting

elderly, adults, kids were having a good time doing their work out

joggers jog by

after while, the place was empty

a young couple stood at the middle of the place

started to kiss, and caressed each other

some came to workout but could not do so

passerby could not help but to turn one eye and walked away

after a moment, a guy seems to be very angry and he sat at the bench and watched them

the young couple then left the place not long after

WHAT DID I HEAR?

“what the hell are they doing!”

“seriously, these kids need some scolding”

“where are their parents”

WHAT DID I LEARN?

youngsters are so open minded

other people could not accept such action done in the public

WHAT DID IT MEAN?

youngsters should not do this in public making others feel awkward and also interrupting people from using the equipment

ANY IDEAS TO TACKLE?

not restricting them but It will be better if they have did such action at a later time especially midnight whereby no one will see it

or best do it at a corner

however if teenager done this, parent should be responsible to teach them how to behave so as to be safe outside

parents should know who are their child hanging out with and where as well as time

its a serious matter to put a stop as they lose focus on studies
